As a guest at the Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia you have many great opportunities to take part in sports and leisure activities. The Bridge Salon in our hotel is always open for a friendly game. In our pool we hold aqua-gymnastic classes, with a professional trainer, five times a week.
Sport and leisure at the Seaside Palm Beach Hotel
Our guests can also take advantage of the many sports and leisure opportunities at our sister hotel, the Seaside Palm Beach, just 5 minutes walk from here. In the peaceful surroundings of the palm grove you can play outdoor chess with other hotel guests. On five days a week you can take part in meditative fitness activities for deep relaxation, such as Tai Chi and Yoga classes under the palm trees. Keen fitness fans can work out with a game of volleyball.
The diversity of Gran Canaria – sports, excursions and more
Gran Canaria has something for everyone. Experience Canarian festivities at one of the traditional cave festivals. The nearby sandy beaches invite you to go swimming or diving. A sailing trip round the island will reveal the excitement and beauty of sailing. Sports and adventure beckon further inland too: experience breathtaking views while taking a camel ride, hiking or mountain-biking. Hire a jeep or convertible to explore the island - on request you may have a chauffeur.
Water sports on Gran Canaria
Water sport fans in particular will get their money’s worth on Gran Canaria. With a coastline measuring 236 km you can justifiably call the island a real Mecca for water sports. The opportunities on Gran Canaria for diving, sailing or surfing are almost endless. Taking part in water sports is even more fun with the island’s moderate sea water temperatures of between 20° and 24°.
Shopping paradise Gran Canaria
Besides all the sports and leisure activities on Gran Canaria, there is also plenty of opportunity to shop. The favourable tax regulations on the island help keep prices down. You could visit, for example, the Calla Triana in the capital Las Palmas, with its quaint side-streets and attractive boutiques and shops. The large shopping centres in Las Palmas are also worth a visit. Everywhere on the island there are pretty town centres for you to explore on unhurried shopping trips. The “Meloneras” promenade is very close to our hotel in Maspalomas, and there too you will find fashionable boutiques.
Gran Canaria for culture vultures
Those interested in culture should also consider a visit to the capital Las Palmas. The city has more to offer than an abundance of shops, restaurants and bars, because there is so much culture to see and explore. There are many museums on the island such as the Museo Canario or art galleries. Colonial architecture is a feature all over the island and is always interesting to see.
Festivals on Gran Canaria – exuberant and genuine
The friendly, happy way of life on the island finds full expression in the colourful festivals. For example, join the exuberant carnival celebrations or take part in traditional festivals like the “Fiesta Nuestra Señora del Pino” in honour of the Holy Virgin of the Pine Tree. You will see at first-hand how the lively, open-hearted Canarians celebrate their love of life.
